Samsung 870 QVO New SSD series doubles the capacity to 8 TB
The Samsung 860 QVO SSD |
Samsung apparently wants to significantly increase the storage space of its mainstream Ssds. In retail, pre-orders for the upcoming Samsung 870 QVO are accepted, which should offer up to 8 terabytes of storage space.
Unannounced pre-order
The website Seeking Tech already drew attention to the new Samsung SSD a few days ago. An official announcement from the manufacturer is still pending, but the pre-order has already started with the shipping giant Amazon.
Even the name suggests that it is the successor of the Samsung 860 QVO, which is the first Samsung SSD with QLC-NAND and offers up to 4 TB of storage space. That the 870 QVO is also based on QLC memory with 4 bits per memory cell remains a very obvious assumption for the time being.

The 8 TB model is scheduled to follow on 24 August 2020. The 1 TB version is expected to cost $130, while the 8 TB version will cost around $900. The other shop pages are no longer available.
