Xbox Series X and PS5 form the new console generation and fans wonder what the prices of the new consoles are. Analyst Michael Pachter is now daring to make a clear announcement, making the new Xbox significantly cheaper than Playstation 5.

The Xbox Series X and PS5 are expected to dominate the console market over the next few years, but some questions - such as the cost - still burn fans under the tongue.

There is now a clear forecast of the prices of both devices. The Xbox Series X is said to be significantly cheaper than Playstation 5, says the well-known analyst Michael Pachter (Wedbush Securities) in a chat with Geoff Keighley, the creator and moderator of the well-known game awards.

According to Pachter, the PS5 is expected to cost 500 US dollars (in Europe certainly around 500 euros) and the Xbox Series X probably only 400 US dollars (in this country 400 euros). This would result in a price difference of around EUR 100.

Pachter clearly assumes that Microsoft is waiting for the price to be announced to PS5 to undercut this price and gain an advantage on the market. At present, it is simply a question of when Sony will announce the price of 500 euros.

The well-known analyst sees much more financial resources at Microsoft and assumes that the US company is more capable of keeping the price down and selling the console at a loss.

However, Keighley and Pachter are also talking about a technically weaker version of the new Xbox, which Microsoft may offer at the above price. However, an Xbox "Lockhart" has not yet been confirmed, so for now we refer to the Xbox Series X.

Moreover, Microsoft could bring the new console to the customer with a very special offer, with a payment rate including a gaming subscription. This way, if you are short of cash, you could pay 40 to 50 Euros a month, but you can already get an Xbox Series X and a game bonus like the Xbox Game Pass.
