This budget has been demanded under the provisions of the supplementary budget for the current financial year. Out of this, 60 crore rupees have been sought for machinery, equipment and other expenses and the remaining 15 crore for revenue expenditure. Sources have said that ISRO has been assured that it will be given money, but the process has not been completed yet.

ISRO has asked for a total budget of Rs 666 crore during 2019-2020, out of which more than 11 percent has been sought for Chandrayaan-3 only. Out of 666 crore, 8.6 crore has been sought for the development of 2022 proposed human spaceflight program, 12 crore small satellite launch vehicles and 120 crore launchpad. The highest demand has been for UR Rao Satellite Center and Satish Dhawan Space Center. Rs 516 crore has been demanded for both. Explain that earlier ISRO had worked on Chandrayaan and Chandrayaan-2 missions.

While only one orbiter was sent to the moon in Chandrayaan, lander and rover were also sent along with the orbiter in Chandrayaan-2. ISRO's mission was to land the lander on the lunar surface, but this part of that mission could not succeed due to crash landing. However, the orbiter is circling the moon's orbit and doing its job properly.
