ZBOX QCM7T3000: For professionals, Zotac relies on Comet Lake and Quadro RTX

Zotac stows a Comet Lake processor with six cores and an Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000, which is equipped with 6 GByte GDDR6, in a housing only 62 mm high and only 2.65 litres in volume. Cost: 1.709 Euro, available from end of August.

The high price includes the graphics solution, the processor as well as the housing including motherboard and external power supply. Customers must therefore still equip the barebone after the purchase with suitable SO-DIMM memory and mass storage.

The small PC accommodates a maximum of 64 GB DDR4-2933 in two banks, mass storage can also be installed in the form of an Optane module for the M.2 slot, a NVMe PCIe or even SATA SSD for M.2-2280 and parallel classic as 2.5-inch HDD/SSD according to SATA standard.

The most important components are hidden under large coolers. The mesh honeycomb pattern also used in passive solutions of Zotac ensures fresh air supply from three directions, the radial fans then transport the warm exhaust air over the hottest components, especially CPU and GPU, over almost the complete left side and over the back to the outside.

The Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 is allowed to record up to 80 watts in the used mobile version, the Comet Lake-H as a notebook CPU is advertised with 45 watts TDP, but under certain circumstances also in turbo modes quickly 50 percent more. The new Zbox is the six-core model Intel Core i7-10750H, which operates at 2.6 GHz base clock and up to 5 GHz in turbo. With 330 watts, the external power supply is large.

As usual, there are many connections with Zotac’s solutions. Twice HDMI 2.0b flanked by two DisplayPorts according to 1.4 standard output the graphics. Killer provides Wi-Fi 6 and a 2.5 Gbit LAN connection, a second Gigabit LAN port is also available. In addition, there are typical audio connections, a card reader and six USB ports, two of them with 10 Gbit/s, one of them as type C in the front of the 210 mm 203 mm 62.2 mm housing.
