Biostar is also launching AMD entry-level chipset A520, a first cost-effective motherboard with the CPU socket AM4 for Ryzen 3000. The model A520MH in the form factor Micro-ATX is one of the usual boards with a basic level of equipment. At the beginning of the sale a price of 60 Euro is called.

Unlike before, Biostar rolls out the A520MH ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte and also MSI only a compact and inexpensive motherboard with the A520 chipset, which can be equipped at a low price with current AMD processors of the Ryzen and Renoir family. Like the majority of competitors, Biostar relies on the smaller Micro-ATX format for the A520MH. Gigabyte and ASRock have already presented A520 boards in the form factor ATX and in the tiny size Mini-ITX with the A520 Aorus Elite and the A520M-ITX/ac.

The Biostar A520MH accommodates up to 64 GB of memory in two DIMM slots, which is officially supported at a maximum speed of 3,200 MHz. And also with the other interfaces Biostar has designed the entry-level motherboard conservatively. For expansion cards, one PCIE-x16 and two smaller x1 slots are provided, which support the standard PCIe 3.0. As we know, the faster PCIe 4.0 is reserved for motherboards with B550 and X570 chipsets.

Equipment level at eye level with the competitors

For mass storage, Biostar has installed a standard M.2 slot with a length of 80 mm (M.2 2280), which supports data rates of up to 32 Gbit/s, in addition to four SATA. The network chip for Gigabit Ethernet comes as with almost all current A520 motherboards from Realtek. The NIC for the audio solution is also provided by Realtek. External peripherals can be connected via Type-A connector to six faster USB 3.1 Gen1 ports or the same number of slower USB 2.0 ports.

Already available for 60 Euro

The Biostar A520MH is at the start of sales with a price of 60 euros on the price level of the many competitors in the micro ATX format, which also do without special features. Unlike various A520 motherboards of competitors, the trade can even deliver.
