Scholars at the University of Central Florida have said that temporary sleep deprivation benefits. A man in this state may have more ambitious goals.
The study is summarized by Inc.
Specifically, four studies by one group of scientists. The first one involved 350 people. They were asked to fill out some questionnaires in which they described their sleep and their propensity for attention deficit hyperactivity syndrome (ADHD) in the last six months. Scientists also learned about the subjects' goals, including whether they wanted to start a business.
The group of participants was then divided into two parts. People in the first subgroup slept continuously through the night, and then filled in the questionnaires again. The second subgroup did not sleep at all.
What can a lack of sleep cause
Researchers found that people with bad dreams were more inclined to start doing business.
In the second and third studies, scientists first analyzed the entrepreneurial motivation and then the participants' dream. As a result, researchers saw the same trend: people with sleep deprivation tended to have more ambitious entrepreneurial goals.
In the fourth study, they looked at the current businessmen. They also talked about the quality of their sleep. Scientists again saw that temporary sleep deprivation leads to ADHD-like behavior, which makes people want to actively pursue plans.
However, researchers do not advise intentionally depriving oneself of sleep. It is best to consult a doctor before any health experiments.
