Messaging application WhatsApp will soon be introducing a new QR code support

The popular messenger, Whatsapp, introduces QR codes. This option has already appeared in the latest beta version of the Android application.
This means that so far the feature is available only to users-participants of beta-testing. They can already use QR codes to quickly add new contacts to the messenger.

Beta testers can see their unique QR code if they press the icon next to the name. There is also a button «scan the code». It actually allows you to scan someone else’s QR code. The smartphone can get images not only from the camera, but also from the gallery.

In fact, if a user shares their QR code, they automatically share their phone number. The application allows to update the code as many times as the user wants.

It is reported that in the stable version of Whatsapp, a new option may appear later this year.
