Microcapsule based Cancer Vaccine Develops
Strategies for Cancer Vaccine Development |
Scientists at the Institute of Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences built a microcapsule based cancer vaccine. It was effective against lymphoma, melanoma and breast cancer.
Researchers develop high-performance cancer vaccine using novel microcapsules
Of course, the vaccine has so far only been tested on tumor models. It works, as mentioned, on polylactic acid microcapsules. They’re the ones that prevent tumors from growing. It’s been reported that the vaccine is actually activating the human immune system. Vaccination induces immune responses with improved release of antigens and a set of immune cells.
It is worth noting that the use of vaccines in cancer treatment is considered promising. To date, only three therapeutic cancer vaccines have been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
