Stealth 13 and the Blade 15, Razer now also updates the Blade Pro 17 with current hardware. Compared to the predecessor, there are new Intel Cpus, RTX Super and by default 300 instead of previously optional 240 Hz.
Intel Core i7-10875H for all
If the predecessor still relied on the Intel Core i7-9750H, buyers of the new model will receive the Core i7-10875H with eight cores and 16 threads in each configuration. After the refresh of the Blade 15 with Comet Lake-H, the new generation is also introduced in the largest Razer notebook. As usual from the manufacturer, there is the 17.3-inch notebook in different configurations, which differ mainly by the graphics card and/ or the screen. Four fans and a large "vapor chamber" are used for cooling. Cold air is sucked in on the underside at the level of the track pad and conveyed out of the housing via two outlets in the rear area and on the hinge.
300 Hz and RTX 2070 Max-Q to get started
The entry-level configuration relies on an IPS-Type "panel with Full HD resolution, 300 Hz refresh rate and 100% coverage of the sRGB color space according to the manufacturer. An Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 in Max-Q design is available as graphics card. Data can be found on the 512 GB SSD space, but the memory can be extended via M.2 by a second SSD. The middle model shares all specifications except the graphics card. Instead of the RTX 2070 there is the RTX 2080 Super, also in the Max-Q design, which corresponds to the refresh of the Turing graphics cards for notebooks. Razer doesn’t reveal how much energy the cards can use.
Top model with 1 TB SSD and UHD touchscreen
The top model differs in turn by a 1 TB SSD and another screen. Instead of the 300 Hz display, buyers receive a touch screen with UHD resolution, 120 Hz and 100 percent coverage of the Adobe RGB color space. The memory of all models is 16 GB DDR4-2933 ex works, but can be upgraded by the user to up to 64 GB.
Connections, battery and housing identical
All other features apply to each of the three notebooks. This means, among other things, an individual RGB illumination of the keyboard, a 720p webcam with infrared for Windows Hello and a battery with 70.5 Wh. Connectors are available in the form of 3 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type A, 1 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C, 1 Thunderbolt 3, 1 RJ45 (2.5 Gbit/s), 1 HDMI 2.0b, a charging port and a UHS III card reader. Razer did not provide any information about the weight in advance, the dimensions of the new Blade 17 Pro are 395 19.9 260 mm (W H T).
Prices and availability
Razer has not commented on the availability, a start in the first half of the year seems possible. The prices are currently only available in US dollars and are rising with the model variant 2,499, 3,199 respectively 3,799 US dollars. As usual, prices are pre-tax.The pre-model of the Blade Pro 17 started in Germany at 2,699 euros.
