More for Wall Street Journal: Apple iPhone 12 Postponed for Month.

This year, Apple postponed the start of production of new models of iPhone flagship smartphones by a month, reported the resource The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) with reference to informed sources. This means that the iPhone 12 can be released a month later than usual in September. All of this is due to the fall in global demand and disruptions in Apple’s supply chain caused by the new coronavirus pandemic.

This year, Apple is expected to release four new iPhone 12 models, including 5.4 and 6.7-inch models, as well as two 6.1-inch models. For comparison, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max smartphones have 5.8, 6.1 and 6.5-inch displays, respectively.

WSJ also states that the delay in the start of mass production means that Apple’s expected output at the end of the year will also be reduced, as part of the smartphone build orders were moved to 2021.

Apple delays mass production of iPhone 12 series by a month: Report

According to the resource, Apple reduced the number of smartphones released between July and December by 20%.

WSJ is not the first to report a delay in the start of production of new iPhone models. Analyst TF Securities Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) warned last week that the company was about a month behind with the release of Phone 12. Because of the pandemic, Apple engineers are currently unable to visit production in China, the technical procedures are done remotely, but solving problems with manufacturers now takes much longer than under normal circumstances.
