Kaufland changes its partner for its own smartphone tariffs.

The K-Classic Mobil Smartphone from Kaufland will disappear in the long term. The new smartphone tariff for the supermarket chain is called Kaufland Mobil and uses Deutsche Telekom’s mobile network - including LTE access. The new tariffs are also a prepaid product. As a special feature there is a special messaging flatrate, which can be booked free of charge as with Congstar.

Kaufland Mobil offers four different tariffs with data rates, all of which have a maturity of four weeks. So if you want to book one of the fares for the whole year, you have to book it 13 times as with other prepaid providers. The tariffs include EU roaming, so the characteristics of the tariff can also be used in EU countries with Switzerland.

All fares use the mobile network of Deutsche Telecom with LTE access at a maximum speed of 25 Mbit/s in download and up to 5 Mbit/s in upload. If the amount of data contained in the tariff is used up before the end of the four-week running time, the download speed is reduced to 64 Kbit/s and the upload to 16 Kbit/s.

As with other prepaid providers, Telecom Mobil also has a base rate at which all services are charged according to the tariff. There are no mobile data rates and every phone minute and SMS costs 9 cents each in all German networks. This basic package costs 9.99 euros and there is a starting credit of 10 euros.

There are also four tariffs with data usage, the small tariff is called Smart XS and costs 4.99 Euro. For this there is an unrestricted data volume of 1 Gbyte as well as 100 free minutes in all German networks. An SMS flat rate is not included in the rate, each short message sent costs 9 cents.

At the Smart S rate, there is a telephone and SMS flat rate in all German networks for all rates. Smart S costs 7.99 Euro, but there is an unrestricted data volume of 3 Gbytes. The next largest tariff is called Smart M and costs 12.99 Euro, for which there is an unrestricted data volume of 5 Gbyte. The most expensive tariff is 19.99 Euro, called Smart L and includes an unrestricted data volume of 7 Gbyte.

Free messaging option
As with Congstar, there is a free messaging option for purchasing country mobile customers. This includes a data volume of 1 Gbyte, which can only be used in a highly restricted manner. In the download and upload a speed of 32 Kbit/s is available.

In the long term, Kaufland Mobil will replace the previous K-Classic Mobil tariffs. By the end of October 2020, customers can switch from K-Classic to Kaufland Mobil, taking their number with them. If you change by 31 July 2020, you will receive a bonus of 50 euros
