Disney+ has released some new films and series over the last week. In our weekend tips we will tell you which highlights you should definitely not miss. Because Disney+ offers so much more than just "The Mandalorian"!

New on Disney +: Suddenly Princess.The new Disney+ offers many hours of great entertainment this weekend. 

Although Disney+ usually refrains from publishing entire series in one shot, there are a whole bunch of new episodes every Friday. For example, the story of "The Mandalorian" and "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" went on, but this weekend we recommend another Disney+ Original: "The Imagineering Story".

Evil tongues could claim that productions like "The Imagineering Story" or "Ein Tag bei Disney" are nothing more than advertising for the Disney theme parks. There is certainly a modicum of truth in this claim, but "The Imagineering Story" is such a fascinating documentary series that it can be called the Disney World expert without ever having set foot in the park in Florida.

In the six one-hour episodes come the "Imagineers", the creative minds who first designed the attractions of the Disney parks for Walt Disney and later for his successors. This is how we see the opening of Disneyland in 1955 and gradually achieve the present. Technical development is likely to be fascinating for every theme park enthusiast, but all others will also get fascinating insights into the world of Disney.


For example, did you know that under the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, there is a small city of its own that is used by employees to get from one end of the park to the other in their costumes? You will also find out why the figure of Abraham Lincoln was hit with coins in the "Hall of Presidents". A short-lived Trivia wonderland, all six of which are now available.

If you want to watch a movie at the weekend, you have to live with Disney+ with a little older titles, because current films are not among the novelties. With "Suddenly Princess", however, there is a modern classic in the range of Disney+, which you can’t see often enough. Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway ("Glam Girls") is here in one of her first leading roles and represents Mia, an unpopular American student. But when she learns from her grandmother that she is the Princess of Genovia, Mia must learn in haste how to behave as the heir to the throne.

In addition to Julie Andrews ("Mary Poppins"), Sandra Oh ("Grey’s Anatomy") and Mandy Moore ("This is Us") can be seen in "Sudden Princess". 

A prominent comedy for the whole family! Alternatively, on Disney+, the film "Daddy without Plan" with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson offers, in which a football player suddenly has to take care of his daughter.
