Pokemon GO 5G's mission is to bring Pokemon into the "real world".

Niantic is working to leverage the upcoming new world of 5G connectivity to allow Pokémon Go to be the primary Pokemon game. There is a kind of interesting relationship between the Pokémon Company and Niantic at the moment, with Niantic making the Pokemon Go game different from the standard development of every new generation of Pokemon. But as 5G begins to cover the world with high-speed streams of connectivity, and Niantic's future vision for gameplay with Pokémon Go begins to blossom, the Pokémon Company may have to re-sort its position .

Original vision

Pokémon Go began as an April Fools joke. If you look back at the end of March, 2014, you will see the initial spark. It was in that "Google Maps Pokémon Challenge" that the people of Niantic (still back inside Google) saw great potential.

In that masterpiece of a video, you'll see the then super-engaging vision of Google Maps: Pokémon Challenge. Some elements of that video made their way into the game Pokémon Go. Some were ahead of their time.

5G onboard

That video was released a decade and a half ago. With the advances made in augmented reality since then, most of the parts shown in the video can be made entirely possible - and justified.

Below you will see the "Shared AR Experience Tutorial" from Niantic. The system is out now - ready to roll into Pokémon Go. We have got the ability to combine elements from multiple devices into one, single vision that can be seen from multiple devices.

Travel back in time and show it to someone in 2016: they don't think it was very clean. Travel until 2006 and everyone who sees it will flip their lid.

Russian Player Banned.

The demo here is for a photo session in a permanent-static space. This is awesome, but in comparison, when we connect to the allowed speed and bandwidth with 5G, it will not be possible, rather it will seem underdeveloped. The developers of Niantic know this - they are preparing for this future.

Preparations in advance

Niantic supports and is a part of the GSMA Cloud XR Forum. It is a collaborative effort - for the advancement of AR and VR within the realm of 5G - a kind of agreement for pool resources.

Niantic announced a partnership with the Open Age initiative with Carnegie Mellon University. They have partnered with Deutsche Telekom to bring their platform to Deutsche Telekom's MobilZX Edge Server and 5G networks - all the way back in October of 2018! They have been preparing for 5G in some interesting ways over the years!

Dream of niantic

"We're opening this new gateway to new design possibilities," said Rob Guisti, Niantic AR Game Integration Technical Lead. “We have helped live the dream of being a Pokemon trainer in the real world. What are some other ways that we can bring imagination into the real world and create meaningful experiences? "

Niantic talked about his big adventure business (as shown above) and left another major clue. "The way we are already working towards this seamless mailing of digital and real is with our partnership with Qualcomm to collaborate on new types of AR devices that will completely transform how we How to interact with sports and augmented reality. "

The original dream is the ultimate dream. Everything we've been doing in Pokemon GO so far has been just a play test. The real 5G-enabled Pokémon Go experience (fingers crossed) will be the real deal
