Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Series with Intel Tiger Lake CPU

Information about other notebooks with Intel’s new CPU generation Tiger Lake have been leaked. In addition to the Core i7-1165G7, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Pro also houses a new dedicated graphics solution in the form of the previously announced Geforce MX450 from Nvidia.

Walkingcat, a notorious Twitter user for leaks, has released footage apparently from a Lenovo presentation. On display are notebooks of the yoga series such as Yoga Slim 7, Yoga Slim 7 Carbon, Yoga Slim Pro and Yoga Slim 9.A slide to the Yoga Slim 7 Pro says the use of an Intel Core i7 of the 11. Generation, indicating Intel Tiger Lake. The 14-inch notebook is optionally equipped with a Geforce MX450, which has also not yet been released.

The website Notebookcheck has researched and opened up further information via various sources. For example, a benchmark database contains a Yoga Slim 7 with Intel Core i7-1165G7. The new Tiger-Lake CPU thus has four cores (eight threads), which operate with 2.8 Ghz base clock and up to 4.7 Ghz turbo clock. With the same clock rates, this processor had previously appeared in another database, which supports the data. The Geforce MX450 is said to be the successor to the MX350, which allegedly uses the Turing GPU TU117 and at least 2 GB GDDR6 memory - it would be the first GPU architecture change since the introduction of the series in May 2017.

The Yoga Slim 7 Pro should be 14.9 mm thin and weigh 1.45 kg. The 14-inch display has a 2K" resolution, 90 Hz and 400 cd/m² of brightness, and a battery life of up to 16 hours.

Market launch possible in the fourth quarter

The information material does not specify a date for the release of the new Lenovo notebooks. However, there are many signs that Intel will officially introduce the new platform around Tiger Lake in early September. Notebooks based on this are expected in the fourth quarter.
