We talked about this a little while ago, Intel just made it official. This is the new Comet Lake which aims to slip into the free tight dormer between the 472$ of the 10900KF and the 439$ of the 10900. It comes to position itself at $453, and we can say that by the game of street prices, so the game of the competition, it risks to be big buffers between all these chips, without forgetting the 10900K or the 10900F.

The closest CPU is obviously the 10900K, they have in common to be overclockable and to have an iGPU, which no 10-core processor of the range can claim. So we keep the 20 threads, the 20 butts of L3, including the turbo related to cooling, the Thermal Velocity. So if they are almost the same, only one small thing differentiates them: the frequencies. The 10900K pedal at 3.7/ 5.1/ 5.2/ 5.3 GHz for the base/ turbo 1 heart/ turbo boost 3/ Thermal V, the 10850K lowers each value by 100 MHz. and so this feels, on paper, on the price with 35 small US dollars.

It is nevertheless likely to steal the show from its big brother, even if from a nomenclature point of view it is closer to the 10900K than the 10900 and 10900F. Now, we will have to see its interest, except to recycle chips slightly more capricious!
