MSI announces the MPG Z490 Carbon EK X motherboard
The release of Z490 was not made in the joy and the good mood, partly because of a tenth generation of Intel that evolves very little and also because of the rise in price of the motherboards, which quickly become oversized. And to this game MSI did not make lace, offering monstrous motherboards like the MEG Z490 Godlike that we tested, which aim to exploit to the maximum the monster with 10 hearts from Intel. But the manufacturer had not yet shown a water-cooled model, unlike the boyfriends. From now on it is done, since the manufacturer releases an affordable watercooled model in the MPG series: the MPG Z490 Carbon EK-X, which relies on the collaboration with EK Waterblocks to realize the liquid cooling system.

The block used is therefore an integral version, which covers the CPU and the power stages, which guarantees optimal cooling of the assembly. The power supply is based on 12 phases for the CPU and that are calibrated to hold 60 A theoretically by VRM, which should be largely enough to hold monsters like the Core i9-10900K. On the rest, the card is exactly the same model as the MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon Wi-Fi, whether on the design or technical features that had already been presented in the past. This makes a more balanced motherboard in the jungle of wet models, where the other manufacturers reserve this treatment to cards exceeding sometimes the French SMIC. The card is announced on the EKWB store for an exit on June 22 at the current price of €453, an investment that remains correct when we see that the "classic" version is worth €300 on our stalls.
