Ford debuted the Fiesta Ecoboost Hybrid. It is the first version equipped with an electric motor of its small city car. The main novelty of this model concerns the engine, a 3-cylinder petrol engine of 1 liter of displacement able to deliver 125 hp (92 kW). This unit is combined with a hybrid Mild Hybrid 48 V system consisting of a belt driven generator of 11.5 kW peak and 20 Nm of torque. Extra power that allows to improve acceleration and to optimize consumption and emissions.

In this regard, the manufacturer declares 5.0 l/100 Km and 112 g/Km of CO2 according to the WLTP cycle (here our guide). According to Ford, the improvement in consumption compared to the non-electrified version is between 5% and 10%. This unit is combined with a 6-speed manual transmission.

On the front of the engine comes other small news. Ford Fiesta can also be requested with the 125 hp (92 kW) non-hybrid Ecoboost 1.0 with the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox that offers a 15% reduction in consumption compared to the old Ecoboost 1.0 from 100 hp (73 kW) as well as with the diesel 1.5 Ecoblue from 85 hp (62 kW). For all petrol models with power between 95 and 125 HP, the engines have the deactivation system of the cylinders.

Finally, small innovations also in technology and ADAS systems. Now, customers will find the standard Fordpass Connect modem that allows you to remotely control multiple functions. The American brand has updated the SYNC3 system which is now more intuitive to use. Present compatibility with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The infotainment has as standard an 8-inch display.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&go, Speed Sign Recognition, Cross Traffic Alert with Active Braking and Perpendicular Park Assist (Fiesta Active and ST-Line) debuted on the safety front. Prices not yet communicated.
