Justice League' to finally come out on HBO Max in 2021

Warner’s HBO Max platform will feature director Zack Snyder’s Justice League next year.

Launched following Joss Whedon’s bad work on Justice League while Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman) was forced to abandon the project following a family drama, the hashtag #Releasethesnydercut quickly became a rallying cry of fans on social networks and never relaxed. It has become a powerful movement guided by film lovers, comic book fans and even feature film actors. Overwhelmed by the events, Warner Bros decided to listen to the fans by announcing the arrival of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the version of Justice League mounted according to the creative vision of Zack Snyder, in 2021 on HBO Max.

The American director exults: “I would like to thank HBO Max and Warner Bros for this courageous gesture of supporting the artists and enabling the realization of their true visions. I would also like to thank all those who participated in the Snyder Cut movement for making it a reality“, while the production company’s parent company says it was important to respond positively to the demand: “The fans asked, and we are happy to finally meet it. At the end of the day, it’s really them who matter and we’re more than excited to be able to release Zack’s ultimate vision for this movie in 2021. This could never have been done without the hard work and combined efforts of HBO Max and Warner Bros Pictures.”

Zack Snyders Justice League could be a movie or TV series

At the beginning of the year, Zack Snyder had a meeting with senior Warner Bros, including Walter Hamada, who took over the lead of DC Films after Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, as well as Jim Lee, the editor of DC Comics, to discuss the famous Snyder Cut from Justice League. He would then have obtained $20 to $30 million in budget to produce this completely new version, while calling on a part of the original technical team and some actors to record new lines of dialogue. The producers still hesitate between a film of more than four hours or a series of six episodes.
