The development of Iron Man VR by the independent studio Camouflaj is officially completed.
Despite the confinement and teleworking due to the coronavirus, the developers of Camouflaj celebrate the end of the development of a licensed game controlled by Sony and Marvel Games: “After years of hard work, we are proud to announce that Iron Man VR is finally ready to be marketed! We look forward to everyone dressing up as Tony Stark in metallic armor when the game will be released exclusively on Playstation VR on July 3rd.”
Hermen Hulst, the boss of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Playstation Worldwide Studios, was often discreet on social media and did not hesitate to congratulate République’s original studio, which made Ryan Payton react (former director of Halo 4 at Bungie and producer of Metal Gear Solid 4 at Konami with the Kojima team), the founder of Camouflaj: “God bless you, Hermen! I hope we make you proud.”
Iron Man VR aims to be “the best Playstation VR game of all time”
Ryan Darcey, game designer at Camouflaj, assures that Iron Man VR was developed as an ultra ambitious project: “We wanted to offer a complete game, and not just an experience or a taste of something bigger. With the demo, we wanted to show a kind of taste, because the game doesn’t just offer flight and shoot sequences. Flying like Iron Man can be quite intense at times. So we want to make sure we give the players breaks and also give them the opportunity to explore Tony as a character through the cinematics. Once a title is overall finished, we can take a step back and look at it from a more technical angle. And since sending the demo to Sony, we have made a lot of improvements. It will be impossible to completely remove the loading times. But we do what we can to optimize the game and make it brighter.”
