Crysis Remastered: New edition could be released this Friday
Crysis Remastered |
After Crytek announced the re-release of Crysis as "Crysis Remastered" in April for the summer, the game was postponed after the release of the first trailer due to feedback from the players. Instead of July 23, the game was scheduled to appear a few weeks later, but there was no date yet.
This could have been revealed by PlayStation Access, because in a new video Crysis Remastered is announced for the 21st of August, so already this Friday. The video has since been removed and is no longer accessible. Since it can be assumed that at least the version for Xbox One and Windows PCs will appear at the same time, they should also start in two days. It would be fitting for a forthcoming release that Crytek released a new screenshot last week with the notice that more details about the new edition of Crysis will follow shortly.
Crysis Remastered New edition
It is still not known whether the Windows variant offers graphical advantages over the console frame apart from a higher resolution. Crysis had postponed the remaster as many players were disappointed by the graphical improvements compared to the original. Crytek therefore wanted to improve again. However, it is not known whether the new edition can show significant improvements since then.
Technically, Crysis Remastered relies on Crytek’s hardware-independent raytracing technology, which is not based on Microsoft DXR. In addition, higher resolution textures and new graphics features are to be implemented. These include temporal anti-aliasing, screen space ambient occlusion, voxel-based global illumination, depth accuracy on the current state of the art, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping, particle effects, volumetric nebula, better lighting effects and screen space reflections.
