RTX 3080 GK110 was the engine of the GTX 780

We saw the leaks of the potential RTX 3080 this weekend. The chiller reacted, and obviously it would be expensive to manufacture according to Igor Wallossek, the tender is currently releasing a ventirad around $150! And its source splashes the GA102 on 3 Geforce boards, having the following SKU: SKU10, SKU20 and SKU30. The GPU used also attracts the attention of kopite7kimi. According to him, the GA102 would be available in version 200/300/400, and would animate the RTX 3080, the 3090 and the TITAN, knowing that the names remain to be defined. But this is mostly a way to show that the 3 most powerful cards would get the GA102. Another point, the GA104 would be declined in two revisions, 300/400, and would be dedicated to RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti (assumed names, but explaining the denomination).

It would be a first for Nvidia since Kepler - the GK110 was the engine of the GTX 780, 780 Ti and Titan - and quite new for many years. The current Turing generation allocates its most ferocious TU102 GPU to the RTX 2080 Ti, the other cards outside SUPER display a different GPU, TU104 for the RTX 2080 and TU106 for the RTX 2070, it should be noted that the suffix SUPER has upgraded the RTX 2070 on the TU104.

All this remains of the supposition, of the rumor. But we suspect that the chameleon will not make any gifts to the competition, with average gains of 25% related to the frequency between 14 and 7nm if we trust the Radeon, will then remain the architecture, the IPC, the cache memory, the RT Cores and the Tensor Cores. In short, there is a good chance that this visual leak has something real somewhere. But we will soon be fixed, let’s spend the summer partly confined, and let’s look at the Computex 2020 that will be held from 28 to 30 September, right in the period estimated by Digitimes, despite the supposed absence of Nvidia and its presence at the IFA.
