OpenCore Computer Hackintosh with AMD Ryzen 9 3950X

Opencore Computer offers PC systems with macOS and introduces the Velociraptor a complete system with AMD Ryzen 9 3950X (Test) and an AMD Radeon VII (Test) with 16 GB HBM2. More Pcs based on AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3000 (Test) are to follow, but the payment methods in the form of Bitcoin give up puzzles.

Hackintosh with full equipment for $4,819

The Opencore computer Velociraptor costs 4,819 US dollars in full equipment and offers in addition to an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X and an AMD Radeon VII a total of 64 GB memory in the form of two 32 GB DDR4 modules with 3,200 MT/s and a 2 TB Pcie SSD of the type Samsung SSD 970 Evo (Test), which works according to the Nvme protocol and is home to the macOS operating system.

In addition, there is also a 2 TB Samsung SSD 860 Evo (test) for the multi-boot option with Windows 10 and a classic HDD of the type Seagate Barracuda with 7,200 revolutions per minute and 4 TB storage space. The cooling of the CPU with its 16 cores and 32 threads is done by a Noctua NH-D15 Chromax.

The smallest configuration based on an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (test) with 16 GB DDR4-3200, 2 250 GB SSD memory for macOS and Windows and a Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 with 8 GB GDDR5 beats with 2,199 US dollars.

All Opencore computer configurations will be shipped with macOS Catalina 10.15 and Windows 10 Professional.

T-Rex and Megalodon for professionals

In the near future, Opencore Computer would also like to expand its portfolio with the T-Rex and Megalodon series based on the sTRX40 platform with the Ryzen Threadripper 3990X (Test) at the top and up to 256 GB DDR4-3200.

The manufacturer sees the T-Rex and Megalodon series as an alternative to Apple’s Mac Pro, which costs up to 64,000 euros, but already promises Mac Pro performance at a third of the price with the Velociraptor series.

The OCC Velociraptor configured with the Ryzen 3950X goes toe-to-toe with the $10,000 current gen Mac Pro 16 core version while costing ~1/3 of the price.

Hackintosh-Pcs only against Bitcoin

Since Opencore computers, like any other Hackintosh vendor, violate Apple’s EULA (PDF) and macOS license, the company has chosen to accept only Bitcoin as a means of payment for its Hackintosh systems.
