Mozilla Foundation in the USA its own service for Windows, Android, iOS
Avec Firefox Private Network, the VPN service for the free browser Firefox, launches the Mozilla Foundation in the USA its own service for Windows, Android, iOS and Chromebooks with Chrome OS. Mozilla becomes a VPN provider for about 5 US dollars a month, but restricts the offer to its own browser.

Firefox Private Network leaves beta (rapid)

As Mozilla announces in its blog, the private network proxy Firefox Private Network has almost left the beta and can now be booked via a waiting list for the price of $4.99 a month - at least in the USA. Mozilla started the pilot phase for its own VPN service back in September last year, back then still based on Cloudflare VPN - today it is Wireguard.

Mozilla’s Virtual Private Network exclusively protects Mozilla Firefox on Pcs and notebooks running Windows 10 or Chrome OS, as well as smartphones and tablets running Android or iOS. According to Mozilla, solutions for the operating systems macOS and Linux will follow soon. The "Mozilla" VPN provider has already set up a corresponding waiting list.

A rollout outside the United States is also conceivable, as Mozilla pointed out other regions in the early beta phase.
Nous allons offrir le Firefox Private Network We will work at the end of the service to the regions of the region.

The project is not yet completely out of the beta phase, Mozilla describes the start-up phase of his new service as "Paid Beta".

Proxy from the Swedish VPN service provider

The browser's data traffic is routed via Firefox Private Network via the proxy server of the VPN service WireGuard, which in turn is operated by the Swedish company Mullvad VPN.
Firefox Private Network is basically a renamed edition of Mullvad VPN and WireGuard, which costs around 5 euros a month in Germany and uses the following servers. The VPN solution from Mozilla is a clone of these established services and a new pillar for the organization.

The VPN is built by Firefox and runs on a global network of servers powered by our partner Mullvad using the WireGuard protocol. Mullvad respects your privacy and has committed to not keep logs of any kind.

12 hours free of charge via browser extension

Mozilla advertises the VPN service on its website once in the form of a dedicated application and once as a browser extension for Firefox with 12 hours of free monthly use. There is a maximum limit of five devices connected at the same time for the actual VPN service.
