BMW 4 Series 2020 Fresh wind from Munich
BMW 4 Series Interior |
The message of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé can be seen quite clearly from the photos: I’m not a 3 Series and you should recognize that in the rear-view mirror. This is mainly due to the kidney at the front: erect, huge and like a blackboard set in the wind, so distinctive that you have to look twice. Connoisseurs, however, will find the nose familiar: BMW i4 and Concept 4 both have this distinctive nose.
The conspicuity works very well. But then there is the long list of innovations that BMW has put on the seat as a leaflet. Then we read a lot about dynamics, driving experience and performance. This coupé is meant to captivate, embrace curves and tell you about his favourite activity at the stand.(Read also: The new BMW 5 Series - New look and even more connectivity)
BMW 4 Series Coupé (2020): The kidney outshines almost everything
We like the eye-catching new kidney very much - the 4 Series Coupé shows muscles without bragging.
BMW 4 Series is a range |
At the back, the rich tail pipes stand out, and the fine lip at the rear.
The visual highlights include the air intakes to the left and right next to the kidney as the main actor on the stage and the narrow front lights above. The distinctive hood, the muscular rear wheel arches and the lines between the front and rear also stand out. The new 4 Series Coupé is more than just a facelift. The car looks very stringent, balanced and also typical BMW.
In the interior, we first see the typical BMW driver-oriented landscape: two monitors as a team, the head-up display has been enlarged, more assistants are to be available. The topic of networking is very important and you should also sit very comfortably in the back. The first technical data from Munich leaves no doubt about the character of this new coupé (Also interesting: Driving report BMW X5 M and X6 M Competition - sheer power paired with brain lard)
BMW 4 Series Coupé (2020): 374 hp to start
At the start of the new 4 Series Coupé, BMW delivers a wide range of engines. Starting with the 420i, which will be running with 184 hp and 300 Newton meters. The most powerful gasoline engine is called the M440i xDrive - with 374 hp under the hood, supported by a 48-volt mild hybrid system. This drives the two-door car to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
The diesel fleet will be launched in October with the 420d with 190 hp and also a 48-volt mild hybrid component. The tip of the spear on the diesel goes by the name M440d xDrive, where 700 Newton meters of torque are written on the data sheet. We can already imagine how this coupé will run forward. We do not have any prices yet, but compared to the 3-seater sedan (from 36,500 euros) you can probably expect a minimum 2,000 euros surcharge. Of course, there will also be an M4, but that will take time.Until then, the M440i should easily be enough as a bridge.
