A Monitor with 4K UHD resolution and 144 Hz is currently only available with 27 inches, 43 inches or 65 inches. Even among the readers of Todayus, the desire for a 32-inch model with these characteristics has always been expressed. ViewSonic meets this demand with the Elite XG320U, which also offers the new HDMI 2.1.

The selection of monitors with 3,840 2,160 pixels and 144 Hz or more is still very limited and is limited to the display sizes mentioned. While models with 43 inches and more are hardly suitable for the desk, many users 27 inches is again too small for this resolution. The 32-inch monitor with 4K UHD closes this gap among the 144 Hz monitors for players.

ViewSonic speaks of a world premiere in the field of "gaming monitors". However, it remains for the time being with an announcement, because the XG320U is to be available in spring 2021 at the price of 999 euros.

But then another novelty in the monitor area is to be expected, because with HDMI 2.1 the new version of the video interface is to be offered, which so far only exists with some televisions. At this point, the monitor is equipped for the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles, and the first graphics cards with HDMI 2.1 in the form of the GeForce RTX 3000 are also on the doorstep. Also Asus wants to offer soon first monitors with HDMI 2.1.

The full specifications are not yet available, but the XG320U will have an IPS panel and will be certified according to the FreeSync Premium Pro and DisplayHDR 600 criteria. Backlight strobing, which markets ViewSonic as "PureXP", further reduces movement blur, so that the Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT) should be just 1 ms. The Adobe color space should be covered by 99 percent.
