With the Beoplay H95, Bang & Olufsen presents an ANC-over-ear headphone with a recommended retail price of 800 euros. The company promises not only state-of-the-art technologies for active noise reduction, but also a lot of aluminium and leather.

The Beoplay H95, available in both black and grey, has a 40 mm titanium driver with neodymium magnets, the driver sensitivity indicates Bang & Olufsen with 101.5 dB (1mW/1kHz) and the frequency range of 20 to 22,000 Hz. The impedance of the Beoplay H95 is 12 ohms and profiles for the equalizer can be selected and adjusted via the app.

For active noise reduction, the headphones have two special MEMS microphones in each earpiece. In addition, four voice microphones are available for telephone calls, of which two microphones are also used for ANC.

Bluetooth 5.1, SBC, AAC and aptX Adaptive


Bluetooth 5.1 is used for wireless communication. In addition to Google Fast Pair for fast connection with Android smartphones, the headphone is also equipped with the certifications for Made for iPhone (MFi) and Microsoft Swift Pair.

In addition to SBC, the Beoplay H95 also offers AAC and aptX Adaptive for audio codecs. In addition to the Siri voice assistant, Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant will also be supported from autumn/winter 2021 following a firmware update.

Volume and ANC adjustable via rotary


For the control, the headphones place on a touch surface in the right ear cup. With this the playback can be started and paused as well as navigated through the titles. A large rotary wheel on the right ear, on the other hand, controls the volume, on the left is changed between ANC and the transparency mode and also their intensity varies. The Beoplay H95 is not only familiar with both modes.

Up to 38 hours of battery life with ANC


The Bluetooth standard should also ensure that the Beoplay H95 achieves an above-average battery life of up to 38 hours with the ANC activated. Without ANC, the battery life should be up to 50 hours and the battery has a capacity of 1,110 mAh. In fully charge after discharge should take about two hours.

According to the instructions, the Beoplay H95 must be switched on for operation by cable. Whether ANC can also be used when using the cable connection is not yet certain.

The Beoplay H95 achieves a weight of 323 g through the use of aluminium, cowhide and lambskin.The dimensions are 185 165 80 mm (W H T).

Lambskin, aluminium hard shell and flight adapter


According to Bang & Olufsen, the oval ear pads made of soft lambskin with soft memory foam should allow a long wearing time without any problems. The ear pads can be replaced by the buyer. To protect the headphones when not in use, Bang & Olufsen provides the Beoplay H95 with an aluminum hard shell that weighs 500 g and measures 200 180 63 mm (W H T). The hinges of the headphones themselves can be turned and folded for storage. Bang & Olufsen also provides the Beoplay H95 with a flight adapter, a USB-C charging cable and an audio cable, the latter being cov
ered with woven fabric. Adapters and cables are also adapted to the design of the headphones with matching aluminum details.

The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95 will be available online and in stores from 10 September onwards at a suggested retail price of 800 euros.
